I want to share with you some personal details about myself. My husband and I have been joyfully wedded since 2007 and we have two beautiful children. Initially, this may seem like a typical introduction to the perfect story. Please, don’t be fooled. I am a Deaf, Mayan Indian woman who has weathered storms in my home, work, and even my personal life.
Throughout my entire existence, I’ve navigated through the proverbial overgrown forest, trekked through the barren desert, and overcome the climb of steep, rugged, and massive mountains.
In retrospect, I learned to consider those elements as life’s hardships; representing the tremendous burden of blood, sweat, and tears I’ve shed. In the midst of life’s turbulent times, each trial seemed to last forever. There were times that I felt the bleeding would never stop.
When I decided to surrender to the lessons life was trying to teach me, I became the Ana I was designed to be, and guess what? The bleeding stopped.
Now, I consider myself the Lily of the Valley - a flower raising itself from the earth, commanding strength and symbolizing my resilience, endurance, and, ultimately, my rebirth.
First, before I begin, let me elaborate on the reasoning behind the name Lily of the Valley for my website and business. Take a look at this picture of Lily of the Valley.
This particular flower is known for its delicate, white bell-shaped blooms that emit a sweet fragrance. It is also associated with qualities such as resilience, tenacity, and happiness. These attributes are aligned with the values and mission of my business, and thus, I found it fitting to name it after this lovely flower.
For me, the name embodies the idea of growth, renewal, and the beauty that can be found in even the smallest things.
Beautiful, isn’t it?
Now, I want you to imagine taking a leisurely stroll down a busy sidewalk that is carpeted with kelly green leaves on either side of it. Out of the corner of your eye, you spot a white Lily of the Valley blooming off to the side. Can you imagine what that flower may have endured over the last few weeks? Pounding rains. Blustering winds. Somehow, those brilliant white petals still shine radiantly, even under the clouds. Their stalks drink in the rain. The winds may blow, but the Lily of the Valley is tenacious and patient, showing true strength. It gracefully bends and sways instead of breaking. It partakes in a beautiful dance with the brisk breeze. For it knows the wind will pass but the Lily will remain; deeply rooted, blooming, vibrant, and illuminating.
As a Lily of the Valley, I have had times where I did not bloom for days or weeks, and sometimes, months. But despite all, I, like the Lily of the Valley, still persevered.
We can truly use the Lily of the Valley as a powerful life lesson and symbol of fortitude. The birth of my website, Lily of the Valley (LOV), is attributed to this specific reason.
YOU should consider yourself a Lily of the Valley.
Just as the flower is beautiful and resilient, so are you.
Allow me to validate you for a moment.
You are a rare gem.
You are valued.
Friend, I see you.
Cheers to the start of your journey toward discovering the best you. I am rooting for you.
Love,
